How long will it take to pass?

The DSA states that on average it takes about 45 hours with a driving instructor and 20 hours of private practice in order to pass your driving test.  However since each person is different I simply promise that I will help you pass in as few hours as is possible to make you a safe driver. 

If you do practice with family, remember that you can be fined up to £1,000 and get 3 to 6 penalty points on your provisional license if you drive without the right supervision.  So make sure they are:

• over 21
• qualified to drive the type of vehicle you want to learn in i.e. manual or automatic
• have had their driving license for 3 years

Do I need to do anything before I start my lessons?

You need to be at least 17 years old and have a provisional driving license before you can have driving lessons.  Further details on the requirements for your provisional and the costs can be found on the official .Gov website. 

On your first lesson I will ask to see your photocard license. I will also check your eyesight.
